Passion Purchases

Thesis In Progress

Shopping nowadays refers to purchasing happiness. The notion of going to a store, pulling out your card, and then tapping it; often referred to as “retail therapy.” People are frequently overestimating their happiness after receiving “retail therapy”.

This causes people to remain unaware of their shopping behaviours and ignorant about money management. This project experiments on how we can use human cognition or sensation in psychology as a trigger to prevent impulsive shopping and increase considered purchases, aiming to reduce over-consumption.
